Neurometer(R) CPT Neuroselective Sensory Nerve Conduction Threshold Electrodiagnostic Medical Devices

Neurometer® NervScan NS3000

Neurometer NS3000

NervScan NS3000 sensory nerve testing devices perform automated painless, neuroselective sensory nerve conduction threshold (sNCT) evaluations. The NS3000 determines current perception threshold (CPT) levels independently for unmyelinated, small myelinated and large myelinated fibers and can be used to evaluate any cutaneous site or mucosal area. Its built-in automated testing procedures painlessly quantify neuropathies from the hyperesthetic through the hypoesthetic stages of sensory dysfunction.

The NS3000 features the standardized, automated, patient directed double-blinded sNCT/CPT methodology that produces objective and highly reliable measures (p<0.006). It also includes the advanced RCPT mode that offers accelerated testing of selected distal sites.

Unlike traditional neurodiagnostic procedures, NS3000 evaluations are unaffected by normal variations of skin thickness and temperature or by edema or outside electrical interference. Test measures are quickly and objectively evaluated through computerized comparison to a standardized, clinically established database of healthy parameters established for dozens of body sites. These unique features of the NS3000 and the sNCT/CPT evaluation produce neurodiagnostic tests with greater sensitivity and greater intra-rater and inter-rater reliability than traditional electrodiagnostic tests.

NervScan NS3000 vs. Traditional Electrodiagnostic Tests

-dot-Evaluates more than 90% of the sensory nerve including large myelinated, small myelinated and unmyelinated fibers. (more) -dot-Painless non-invasive stimulus encourages patient compliance and allows testing of children and sensitive body sites. (compare)
-dot-Tests any cutaneous site and mucosal area including sensitive and distal sites e.g. fingers, toes, face, genitalia, etc. (more) -dot-Computerized evaluation of measures based on standardized clinically established norms for dozens of body sites. (more)
-dot-Quantifies the full range of sensory dysfunction from hyperesthetic through hypoesthetic and anesthetic stages for greater sensitivity and earlier detection. (more) -dot-Easy to learn and easy to conduct standardized automated test procedure. Self-calibrating stimulus and integral cable test assure reliable results. (compare)
-dot-Produces accurate measures unaffected by skin temperature or thickness, edema or electromagnetic fields. (compare) -dot-Portable rechargeable equipment permits safe and convenient testing almost anywhere. No special shielding needed. (compare)
-dot-Standardized double-blinded procedure produces objective, reliable and repeatable results with high inter-rater and intra-rater reliability. (compare) -dot-Hundreds of peer reviewed publications document the sensitivity, reliability, versatility and clinical utility of the sNCT procedure. (more)
